Highlights of ongoing urban and infrastructure changes
The president of Foment del Treball, Josep Sánchez Llibre, has urgently called for the promotion of the «renaissance of Barcelona» that is underway due to the significant urban, architectural, and infrastructure changes being carried out, as reported by the businessman in a statement this Friday.
Sánchez Llibre added that it is necessary to have «a cohesive metropolis and cooperation between municipalities» within the framework of the Rehinkbcn report ‘the development of Barcelona in the next ten years and its impact on the metropolitan model’.
The report focuses on highlighting the ongoing urban and architectural changes in Barcelona and proposes actions in different areas to establish the future model of the metropolitan region.
For his part, the vice president of the businessman, Mar Alarcón, explained that the changes taking place in Barcelona, Sant Adrià del Besos, and L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona) «will affect the system of cities in the metropolitan area.»
The director of the Barcelona Society of Economic and Social Studies (Sbees) of Foment del Treball, Félix Riera, emphasized that the concept of renaissance «designates the ability of a city to realize that its transformation potential is in progress.

In a conversation with the president of the Union of Sports Federations of Catalonia (UFEC), Gerard Esteva, the CEO of Aigües de Barcelona, Felipe Campos, indicated that defining the future of Metropolitan Barcelona «requires promoting dialogue and alliances.»
Esteva, on the other hand, pointed out that «the history of Barcelona has been made through private investments,» which is why he emphasized the role of entrepreneurs.
