The President of Generalitat, Salvador Illa, said on Tuesday that the government will consider intervening in the Koldo case if the works awarded by ADIF in Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona) have «caused harm to Catalonia or Catalan institutions.»

He made this statement during his appearance in Parliament to explain the Cerdán case and its potential impact on Catalonia, thus addressing the proposal of points that was requested at the beginning of the plenary session to pursue as a private prosecution in the case.

He stated that he has no issue with doing so and that what needs to be investigated will be investigated. He defended that based on the report from the central operational unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard on the case, there is no indication related to him or any member of the government being involved in the scheme. He reiterated his support for the response of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, following the latest developments in the case.
