Empresa i Treball destaca un any de polítiques sobre teixit productiu, riquesa i ocupació de qualitat

The Conselleria de Empresa y Trabajo de la Generalitat has emphasized that the first year of Miquel Sàmper’s term at the helm of the department has focused on strengthening the productive fabric with actions that promote generating wealth and quality employment.

It has highlighted the deployment of a comprehensive strategy for internationalization, reindustrialization, administrative simplification, social dialogue, territorial cohesion, and digital training, as reported this Saturday in a press release.

INTERNATIONALIZATION

Regarding internationalization, it has mentioned a new business growth service (through the Acció agency) to facilitate companies gaining scale; the promotion of attracting high value-added foreign investment with trips to China, Japan, and South Korea; and, in the face of U.S. tariffs, measures to diversify markets and support the internationalization of companies.

In terms of reindustrialization, it has noted the Electric Vehicle Impulse Plan, «a turning point»; and the continued development of the National Industry Pact (PNI 2022-25), while the third PNI 2026-30 is being finalized.

It has also highlighted efforts to streamline administrative processes with the Business Activity Facilitation Plan 2025-28; establish the General Directorate for Social Dialogue; revitalize the transformation of the Public Employment Service (SOC); and redirect the Nuclear Transition Fund to «be closer to the needs and realities of municipalities and facilitate planning» to promote investments by companies and local and regional entities.

Additionally, negotiations with Aran (Lleida) for economic promotion competencies have been reactivated, and actions have been taken to provide future business projects with suitable industrial land.

DIGITAL, TOURISM, AND COMMERCE

In digital training, the National Pact for Digital Talent has been promoted to double the number of digital professionals by 2030 and ensure that half of the new recruits are women; and the ‘More Digital’ program has been rolled out, offering free in-person training courses to vulnerable groups, such as the elderly.

In tourism, a strategy has been implemented to evolve towards a value-based tourism model, with the campaign ‘(+) Catalonia, better tourism’; the Tourism Board has been reactivated, «with effective sector involvement,» and a group of experts has been created to support the design of the new Tourism Law and sectorial territorial Plan.

As for commerce, the Conselleria has focused on enhancing competitiveness with initiatives such as ICF Lidera Comerç and the Competitiveness, Growth, and Innovation Plan; and the Dual VET is being promoted to train and incorporate qualified personnel into the sector.
