Els barris de muntanya de Barcelona reforcen talussos per evitar despreniments per pluges

The Barcelona City Council has carried out 46 actions since 2023 to improve and reinforce walls and slopes in mountain neighborhoods, with the aim of preventing landslides in case of torrential rains.

So far, 73% of the planned actions within the Pla Endreça have been executed, with an investment of 17,644,000 euros, as reported by the City Council in a statement this Saturday.

To carry out these works, a diagnosis was made in the different neighborhoods, and then these spaces were cleaned up to apply the most appropriate solution.

Thus, reinforced meshes with steel cable, metal fences, or walls have been installed, depending on the topography of the area with an «integrative vision of the environment» and, according to the City Council, with a reinforcement of the plant structure and biodiversity.

4 ONGOING WORKS

Among the set of actions, there are still four works in progress in the districts of Sants-Montjuïc (Àmbit Sot del Migdia; Fossar de la Pedrera and Deixalleria in the Montjuïc cemetery, and Camp de Tir) and Horta-Guinardó (calle Lisboa), which will be completed between October and December.

And the completed works are in the districts of Sants-Montjuïc, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Gràcia, Horta-Guinardó, and Nou Barris.
