The president of the Grup Communs in parliament, Jéssica Albiach, affirmed this Sunday the central government as «one of the last progressive strongholds left in Europe» and called on democrats to defend it.
This was stated during the press conference at the XIV National Congress of Unió de Pagesos in Mollerussa (Lleida), where she criticized the «fascist gathering» held this weekend in Madrid, referring to the summit of the European political group Patriots Grup.
Albiach questioned where the PP stands because, in her opinion, whenever the Popular Party has to choose between Vox or democracy, they end up «buying into the ultra agenda.»
The leader of the communes accused the number 3 of the Catalan Alliance, Jordi Aagage, of saying that, according to Albiach’s words, «he would not have minded participating in that fascist event in Madrid.»
«The Catalan Alliance and Vox are two sides of the same coin, and the far right is the far right whether speaking Catalan or Spanish, being Spanish or pro-independence,» she added.

In addition, Albiach pointed out that one of the main duties of the government is our economy, the primary sector.
The agreement reached between the European Union and the Mercosur countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Venezuela) has also been criticized and she called for not ratifying it because, in her words, it is unfair competition for the primary sector.

On the other hand, Albiach emphasized the need for measures to guarantee the right to housing and that the mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, «is not lying» about the 30% reservation measure for new developments of protected housing, following the Orsola case.
She also reiterated that they are in talks with the Generalitat government to «transform the real estate transfer tax into a tax against speculation,» increasing it from 10% to 20% for individuals purchasing entire buildings.
