The Minister of Education and Professional Training, Pilar Alegría, has requested that the right to freedom of choice of women be respected, in response to the decision of the Madrid City Council to inform about ‘post-abortion syndrome’, and states that they are studying this issue and do not rule out «taking legal action if necessary».
She said this on Wednesday during her visit to Escola Josep Pla in Sant Andreu de la Barca (Barcelona), alongside the Minister of Education and Professional Training of the Generalitat, Esther Niubó, where, when asked about this issue, she stated that what they are doing to women with this decision is «extortion».
Alegría has stated that «neither medically nor scientifically does that syndrome or anything similar exist» and has called on the Popular Party and Vox to respect the right of women to decide, insisting that they are autonomous and responsible individuals.
