The Barcelona City Council has opened a new green space of 2,000 square meters in the 22@ technology district at the entrance of the pneumatic collection center at the intersection of Zamora and Pallars streets, after 17 months of work and a budget of 840,000 euros, the city council reported in a statement on Sunday.
The new interior green area is a circulation and access space, while the border with Pallars Street has expanded the sidewalk for pedestrian circulation and also incorporates sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) that facilitate the infiltration of rainwater into the subsoil.
This action is part of the City Council’s Proximity Interior Program I (PEPI) to improve the quality of public space and dignify the urban environments of proximity throughout the city and its underutilized spaces.
