Barcelona lliura les 15 claus d’emmagatzematge per a l’arrendament accessible a Horta: Servei de Premsa

Ajuntament de Barcelona

This afternoon, the ceremony for the delivery of the keys to the new tenants of a public affordable housing development took place in the district of Horta, specifically in Horta-Guinardó. This promotion consists of 15 units for families registered in the official housing registry for the protection of Barcelona.

The event was presided over by the first mayoress, Laia Bonet, who highlighted that this delivery is part of the city’s strategy «to guarantee the right to a decent and accessible home.» «Ensuring that this right opens the door to all other rights and is the beginning of a new stage in your life,» added the mayoress.

The units were allocated for affordable rental prices, in this case, the families entering will pay a monthly rent in relation to the area of the house, ranging from 401 to 831 euros. These incomes plus the community expenses will not exceed 40% of the family’s income. As customary, in this promotion, different reserves were made according to the typology for the allocation of apartments: 4 units for under 35s; 4 more for neighborhood and environmental residents; One for single-parent families and another for larger families and more suitable and adapted for people with reduced mobility. The rest is allocated to the general contingent.

The development is part of a group of three multi-family buildings, two of them for free housing with a total of 27 units and the promotion delivered today, with 15 protected units. This last block is located at the corner of Granollers and Baixada de Can Mateu streets.

The building consists of five floors with eleven units of two bedrooms, two of one bedroom, and one of three and four bedrooms. The usable area of the units ranges from 43 to 90 m2. They all have a terrace and also come with a parking space and a storage room. Seven of the units also include a motorcycle parking space.

Both the affordable housing building and the other two free units were promoted by the developer Vèrtix, who completed the works in May 2024 and invested over 4.1 million euros in the promotion of protected units.

The 15 units with affordable rents respond to the specific modification of the General Metropolitan Plan in the Mateu de Llobregós area. This change requires the developer of the free housing to reserve 30% of the built area for protected units. In this case, as indicated in the specific change regulation, the developer made a reservation of 1,191 m2 of surface to build 15 accessible units, in addition to the 27 free units.
