On Friday, the Barcelona plenary demanded the rights of the LGTBIQ+ community through an institutional declaration and criticized the ban on pride in Hungary, as well as Barcelona’s rise as a reference city in defending rights.
The declaration, signed by all groups except Vox, comes after the ban by the Hungarian government led by Viktor Orbán on demonstrations in the country, which the city government has condemned for going against human rights.
In addition, they asked that the rest of the administrations dedicate themselves to defending diversity and equality worldwide, as well as showing their strength against what is «an unprecedented delay in the progress of the community» with appropriate diplomatic actions to reverse the situation.
