Barcelona and the Moroccan cities of Tetuan and Tangier have strengthened their collaboration to improve the lives of the residents of the three cities. The Catalan capital has signed a memorandum with Tetuan in the fields of public space management, mobility and accessibility, civil society consolidation, digital, ecological, and energy transition, and promotion of social and solidarity economy, towards gender equality. For the second mayor responsible for social rights, culture, education, and life cycles, Maria Eugènia Gay, this connection with the Moroccan cities will «improve the lives of the citizens and continue to strengthen the connection between two cities on both sides of the Mediterranean.»

In a context marked by the exposure of cities to climate change and the need to protect the population from its consequences, cities must take care of and improve the living conditions of their citizens.
