Bonet destaca el «gran consens» entorn del 30% d’habitatges protegits i espera recuperar-lo

Martí (junts), Sanz (Bcomú), and Alamany (ERC) agree to approach Gontenanza del Prat

Barcelona, 29 (Europa Press)

The first deputy mayor of Barcelona, Laia Bonet, mentioned the «great consensus» of the different municipal groups in the approval of the 30% protected housing reserve, which she hopes to recover to make it work.

«We have to work, not just be on paper, be on the streets and make it a reality. And, therefore, we will have to make the necessary changes,» she said on Thursday, in a debate at the Athenaeum of Barcelona with the youngest leaders, Jordi Martí of Bcomú, Janet Sanz, and ERC’s Elisena Alamany, moderated by journalist Gerard Pruna.

Martí described the 30% request as a «fiasco,» to which he gave his support, and advocated for regulations on seasonal rentals and regulations to make it compatible with a variable supply that, in his opinion, a great city like Barcelona needs.

Sanz criticized the Collon government for its «impunity and laxity» in accordance with housing regulations and called for a consensus of progressive forces to mobilize PSC to effectively implement the 30% reserve throughout the city.

Alamany, in turn, supported the city’s rehabilitation potential and stated that «the current problem is not building and supplying, the problem is demand pressure,» proposing to limit the purchase of second homes in the Catalan capital.

Mobility and tourism

Regarding the Barcelona airport model, Martí opted for an increase in the capacity of the PRAT airport to allow for greater interconnection and a Catalan government. In terms of tourism, he advocated for promoting dialogue with the sector to attract fewer quality visitors.

Alamany agreed with the board leader on reopening the debate on the governance of the Prat, as the location «benefits Barcelona’s potential, but no one decides for Catalonia,» and argued that all tourist activity revenues should reinforce its effects.

Bonet emphasized the airport’s expansion as a strategy to «enrich and diversify the economy, not capture more tourists» and argued that the government’s intention is to tap the brakes to avoid changes produced by Barcelona’s capital that affect its residents.

Finally, Sanz claimed to approach the «operation» of the Catalan airport system and called on Barcelona as the central point of historical conquests over rights, opting to reclaim them.

Tomorrow Barcelona

Asked about an adjective that defines tomorrow in Barcelona, Martí chose «progress,» with which, he says, they imagine, dream, and work, while Bonet highlighted «viitorul,» referring to the youth, assuring that they are all policies of the municipal government.

From Bcomú, Sanz defended a city that is «correct, prosperous, and enduring,» because, in her words, the alternative to this is the jungle, and Alamany affirmed that Barcelona continues to be Barcelona.
