Collboni highlights the «identity form» of the union of Barcelona
The CRUïlla 2025 Festival in Barcelona, which will take place from July 9 to 12 at Parc del Fòrum, will have a new stage near the sea, the «Cruïlla Dansa Bon Preu Eslat», which will offer dance and fashion proposals.
The director of the festival, Jordi Herreruela, explained this on Thursday at a press conference at El Molino with the mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, to present the festival’s news in Barcelona.
Collboni stated that Cruïlla has established itself not only as a music festival, but as «part of the city’s identity» and is deeply rooted.
He thanked the organization for «revitalizing one of the city’s most emblematic spaces», El Molino, and assured that the city council is committed to recovering cultural spaces, especially in the Ciutat Vella district, such as the Capitol theaters and the Arnau.
Poster news
The new dance and fashion stage will be located on the beach area, next to the Vela club: «We knew we had the sea so close and couldn’t get closer,» said Herreruela.
He ensured that this is the first step to incorporate fashion into a music festival: «We want to be a showcase of the entire Catalan cultural scene.»
Latest additions
Herreruela announced the latest additions to the poster: Àfrica Express, a project with over 50 musicians on stage with artist Damon Albarn, and also Samuray and Model, the second chosen in the emerging bands contest.
He also revealed some names that will accompany the band’s anniversary concert on July 12 to celebrate Cruïlla’s 15 years: Alizz, Valeria Castro, Figa Flafes, and Maria Hein, among others.
«Individual and collective identity» of Cruïlla
He asked the public to share stories related to Cruïlla: «There are people who have said they have fallen in love with the festival, how they met their partner there, or that they came for the first time with their children.»
He assured that there are many stories that are part of the «individual and collective identity» of the festival, so starting Wednesday, a space has been opened on the festival’s website with the intention of receiving all these stories.
