The Chinese company SMM Information & Technology has chosen Barcelona to host the Congress on lithium-ion batteries «Li-ion Battery Europe,» as reported by the Ministry of Business and Labor of the Generalitat on Monday in a statement.
The announcement came after a working meeting between the Minister of Business and Labor, Miquel Sàmper, and company representatives during the institutional mission that Sàmper is leading in China this week.
The Congress will take place on November 3 and 4 of this year and aims to connect the Chinese battery ecosystem with Europe, bringing together 30 exhibitors and over 80 speakers, as well as a thousand visitors.
SÀMPER has assured that China’s desire to «connect with Europe to face the challenges of the battery industry is crucial» and has celebrated that doing so from Barcelona helps strengthen the position of the Catalan industry in the sector.
The event will serve to explore collaboration opportunities between China and Europe in this industry, as well as the challenges it faces and regulatory updates.
