The Barcelona City Council will preserve and safeguard the library of the modernist architect Ezequiel Porcel I Alabau (Barcelona 1877-1926), after his descendants donated it to the council, as reported in a statement this Saturday.
The bibliographic and documentary collection of Porcel, who worked at the council as a municipal architect, will enter the Department of Documentation and Archives of the City Council (SEDAC), which will be responsible for the custody, treatment, accessibility, and dissemination of this legacy.
The collection, assembled by the architect during his training and professional activity, consists of publications and magazines on architecture ranging from the late 19th century to the mid-19th century, and the donation consists of a total of 71 different titles.
