Emphasizes the government’s willingness to improve administration in «efficiency and effectiveness»
The deputy secretary and spokesperson for the PSC, Lluïsa Moret, has highlighted the agreement reached with the farmers in Generalitat to deter the planned protests for Monday as an example of the government’s action «of negotiation, agreement, and pact with all social and economic agents.
During a press conference on Monday at the party’s headquarters in Barcelona, Moret pointed out that the agreement demonstrates Generalitat’s willingness to make decisions aimed at facilitating the work of farmers and, in particular, reducing the bureaucracy that affects the primary sector, she points out.
For Moret, the agreement means «bravely carrying out a real transformation of public administration and administrative procedures with the logic of efficiency and effectiveness,» especially in what needs to be done, she emphasizes, regarding the administration’s relationship with the reality of Catalonia.
Housing: «Top priority»
Asked about the statements made on Monday by the spokesperson for the communication, Gerardo Pisarello, who labeled the amount of purchase of the Orsola house as excessive, Moret valued that the functioning of the City Council of Barcelona is an example that for the socialists housing «is a top priority».
In this regard, with a possible reduction of the 30% quota for protected housing in new constructions in Barcelona, she stated that the PSC agrees «with all measures that can help facilitate the right to housing».
Tribute to Xavi Soto
Likewise, Moret announced that the PSC will pay tribute this Saturday, February 15, on the 30th anniversary of the death of Xavi Soto, who, according to the spokesperson, is a reference for the party, especially for the youth of the PSC, «of ideological commitment, political commitment» and the defense of rights and freedoms, she highlights.
The tribute will be attended, among others, by the President of Generalitat, Salvador Illa, the President of the PSC and Ambassador, Permanent Delegate of Spain to UNESCO, Miquel Iceta, and the First Secretary of the Youth of the PSC, Laura García.
