Director of Rodalies, Antonio Carmona, stated that two railway workers are being investigated for providing «incorrect instructions» that led to the cancellation of trains during the strike days called by minority unions of Renfe and ADIF between March 17, 19, 24, 26, 28, and April 1.

«What is being analyzed are facts, incorrect instructions that caused the cancellation yesterday afternoon of 40 trains on the R1 and R3 lines mainly and some R4 trains, with a special incident in Hospitalet,» he said in an interview on Wednesday on Catalunya Ràdio collected by Europa Press, noting that one employee is under investigation.

He assured that on March 26 there was already a «similar situation» with regional trains and indicated that another worker is being investigated as well.

He exemplified the alleged misconduct with incorrect communication: «Someone would have communicated to a train driver that this train would not run. Therefore, the driver would not have shown up for the train. That’s an example,» he said.

He added that he cannot provide more details because a legal advisory report from the company is in progress and expressed that what happened «is something that cannot be tolerated.»
