438.000 vehicles have left the metropolitan area of Barcelona from 3:00 p.m. on Friday until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday due to the December holiday, as Monday will be a holiday.
They represent 95% of the 460,000 vehicles that were expected to leave by 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT) in a statement.
The roads with the most incidents during the special operation for the December holiday have been the AP-7, due to a multiple accident in Castellví de Rosanes (Barcelona) and also due to an accident in Llinars del Vallès (Barcelona), as well as traffic jams in La Jonquera (Girona), La Roca del Vallès and Castellbisbal (Barcelona), the C-16 in Castellbell i el Vilar, Berga and Cercs (Barcelona), towards the Cadí Tunnel and the C-17 in Tona, Vic (Barcelona) and Ripoll (Girona), towards Ribes de Fresser (Girona).
Additionally, the C-14 in Oliana and Organyà (Lleida) has also been affected, and there has been slow traffic on the roads to Andorra, the N-145 and N-260, and the C-25 due to the Espinelves Fair (Girona).
Total traffic jams have been 14% lower in distance and duration compared to 2024, with the peak of traffic jams being 20% lower than in 2024, reaching a peak of 93 kilometers of traffic jams on the road network at 12:30 p.m.
