Teresa Cunillé rep la medalla centenària de la Generalitat

The Minister of Culture of Generalitat, Sònia Hernández, presented the centenary medal to the actress Teresa Cunillé on Tuesday, on the occasion of her 100 years, highlighting that she «represents a series of values» that contribute to the improvement of society.

The event took place at the Palau Marc, headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, and was attended by the actress’s family and friends, as well as the Director General of Cultural Promotion, Xavier Fina.

«Not many people manage to reach such a round and important number as 100 years, and even fewer can do it consciously for all citizens,» said the minister.

Hernández stated that Cunillé is part of a generation that «paved the way» in various areas of everyday life and contributed to normalizing the presence and participation of women in all spaces.

The minister recalled the well-deserved awards that the actress has received throughout her career and emphasized that culture helps «create shared imaginaries that coexist as a people and explain as a society.»

Born in Sabadell (Barcelona) on October 22, 1924, she has performed in more than a hundred plays, standing out for her relationship with the Romea Theater in Barcelona and for the performance of multiple works by Josep Maria de Segarra.
