Balfegó and Olistic received the José Manuel Lara award for ambition and business objectives during the 40th Ocomia gathering, which takes place until Wednesday at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya.
During the ceremony, the Minister of General Economy, Alícia Romero, said she was delighted to share the recognition of these two companies: «I did not know José Manuel Lara, but I believe that the goal of business is to generate an impact on society, not only to create wealth, but also to create value.»
She emphasized the importance of companies, as they «create jobs and wealth in the region,» and thanked the publishing group Penguin Random House (whose CEO, Núria Cabutí, participated on Tuesday) in Catalonia.
She also considered the agricultural sector to be «the most important in the country» and highlighted how it promotes territorial balance, which she believes is crucial.
Furthermore, she referred to a geopolitical situation that creates uncertainties but is full of opportunities: «Therefore, we ask Europe to wake up and have a common response.»
