Colloni reconeix 11 entitats centenàries de Barcelona

Among the distinctions are the Royal Academy of Medicine and the Orphe of Sants

The Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Colloni, presented 11 distinctions to the centennial entities and institutions of Barcelona in an event at the Saló de Cent, coinciding with the festivities of Santa Eulàlia.

The distinctions were awarded after being unanimously approved in the November Municipal Council plenary, as reported by the Local Council in a statement.

This is the third year in which this award has been granted, created to recognize the trajectory of entities and institutions that are 100 years or older, as well as a «credited task related to the city of Barcelona».

Colloni highlighted the ability of entities and institutions to adapt and reinvent themselves over the years and maintain fundamental values: «Our city can praise itself for continuing to live its history, precisely because of entities like you.»

«We support, more than ever, origins that make us strong and allow us to embrace the diversity of society to build a better future,» he added.

Awards

The 11 different entities include the Royal Academy of Medicine, Athene Horten, the Federation of Mutual Societies, the companies of Burgon de Barcelona and the counties, Orfeó de Sants, the mutual society of the social personal of the Barcelona Porture Authority, Rotary Rotary Club Barcelona, El Park Del Guinardó School.
