Junts has asked the Minister of Education and Professional Training of the Generalitat, Esther Niubó, on Friday, «not to compensate» the results of the diagnostic assessment tests for the 2nd year of ESO.
In a statement, they explain that they have submitted a series of questions to the Parliament regarding the correction criteria after teachers have stated that they have received directives from the department not to consider «spelling and grammatical errors, unless they seriously affect the understanding of the response.»
«This damages our language and we are deceiving the students. It is not worth deceiving the lonely,» said Junts’ MP Anna Erra, who believes that the decision is not consistent with the mandate to ensure mastery of Catalan established by the education law of Catalonia.
In the questions, Junts wonders about the reasons, in what framework, and since when this examination criteria is applied and asks to know the extent of its application.
For the points, there is no pedagogical justification «for not taking into account spelling and grammatical errors in a mandatory educational stage where the achievement of basic skills must be guaranteed.»
