The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested two men aged 40 and 58 on Tuesday in Vila-Seca (Tarragona) for allegedly setting fire to a 43-year-old man, who was transferred in serious condition to the Hospital de la Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona, according to a statement.
The call came in at 9:15 p.m. When the victim, who lived at the former Red Cross headquarters on Avenida de la Generalitat, asked for help because he was burning, several witnesses assisted him.
Mossos d’Esquadra patrols, the emergency medical system (SEM), the Generalitat fire brigade, and local police cars were dispatched to the scene.
In less than an hour, the agents located the two men, accused of attempted murder to a provisional degree.
The Tarragona research unit has opened an investigation to clarify the facts.
