The municipal groups of Junts, BComú, ERC, and PP have requested the mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, to urgently appear to explain the measures they are taking to resolve the lifeguards’ strike.
The opposition parties have formalized a request for an extraordinary session of the Ecology, Urban Planning, Mobility, and Housing Committee to be convened the day before the workers complete their third week of protest, they have indicated in a joint statement.
Specifically, they demand that the municipal government explain the actions and measures taken to ensure the working conditions of the lifeguards, clarify how the safety of bathers is being ensured during the minimum services, and indicate the role and actions of the government regarding the conflict.
