Grimaldi preveu una facturació de 5.000 milions el 2025, similar als dos anys anteriors

The group has invested 1,000 million in Spain in the last 5 years

The CEO of Grimaldi Logistics Spain, Mario Massarotti, stated that the maritime group expects a turnover of nearly 5,000 million euros for this year, a figure similar to the previous two years.
He said this on Friday at an informative meeting of Grimaldi Lines and Transmed, the Spanish naval company of the Grimaldi Group, to analyze the season and assess future forecasts, held at the inauguration of the International Logistics Room (SIL) 2025 at the Montjuïc venue of Fira in Barcelona.
Also present were the Director of Institutional Relations of Grupo Grimaldi in Spain, Miguel Pardo, and the CEO of Transmed, Ettore Moreace.
There, Massarotti highlighted the group’s strategy at the port of Barcelona to expand its capacity with the construction of a vertical dock for 2,500 vehicles, which has already begun and will be completed with a photovoltaic installation: «We expect it to be ready by March 2026,» he said.
Since the acquisition of assets from the Trasmediterrani Armas group in 2021, the Grimaldi group has invested over 1,000 million euros in the development of infrastructures and fleets in Spain, a figure that includes the acquisition of terminals and the modernization of spaces for the development of lines between Spain and Italy.
Less emissions
In his speech, Pardo emphasized the advances in reducing CO2 emissions by Transmed, with a 20% reduction compared to the start of its activity in 2021.
Recently, the Spanish naval company reported a reduction of approximately 250 tons of CO2 emissions in two months, after implementing the connection of the ship «City of Palma» to the Power Supply System (PAHO) of the port of Barcelona.
«We hope that with the OPS connection, we will further increase emissions reduction,» said Pardo.
In parallel, the Grimaldi group has unified its terminals at the port of Barcelona, specifically at the docks of Sant Bertran, Ponent, and Costa, which operate as a single concession, an operation aimed at optimizing processes, improving operational efficiency, and offering better service to customers and operators.
Ro-pax ships
Regarding future projects, Pardo highlighted the investment made by the group exceeding 1,300 million euros to build nine RO-PAX ships, powered by methanol and scheduled for delivery between 2028 and 2030.
«These ships will reduce CO2 emissions per unit compared to current ships by over 50%,» he said.
Six of the nine ships, from the «Next Generation Med» class, will serve the Mediterranean operated by Grimaldi Lines (four under the Italian flag) and its subsidiary Minoan Lines (two under the Greek flag), and the other three, from the ‘Hansa Superstar’ class, will operate routes in the Baltic Sea under the Finnish flag.
